I bought it recently and spent some time testing it. Honestly, I would say it is somewhat impractical as a complete gaming device because of its screen size and unusual aspect ratio. You get the only 2.8-inch display for almost 80% of the games, which doesn't really make sense for modern systems such as PSP. Anything from before 1995 looks and plays great, for example, GB, GBC, GBA, SNES, etc.

But that raises another question: why buy an Android device to play those games when you can get a much better experience on something like the RG35XXSP for less than half the price. The RG35XXSP has a larger screen and is much more practical for this type of gaming.

At a similar price, devices such as the RG Vita or Mangmi Air X make more sense, especially if you're looking for a larger and more capable device with best aspect ratio for 3D games.

However, if you're buying the Rotate simply because you love its design, then go for it. There is absolutely nothing to complain about there. Its genuinely looks fantastic.
But there is one thing that really surprised me, the audio quality.

I can confidently say that this is a great music player. I tested it with an OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Buds 4 by connecting the same earbuds to the Rotate and directly comparing the sound quality. I honestly couldn't believe the difference on my first attempt. The Rotate sounded around 80% better in terms of soundstage and overall presentation compared with the OnePlus 15. I replayed many different songs to make sure it wasn't just my imagination, and the results were consistently the same.
I don't know whether Anbernic has used some kind of special DSP or audio processing inside this device, but somehow it completely surprised me. It actually made my OnePlus 15 sound disappointing in comparison, even when using the same premium earbuds. Bollywood songs, in particular, gave me that nostalgic feeling of listening to music on a proper music system 10 years ago. The sound is balanced and bright, with enough bass and very clear mids. The overall presentation is simply enjoyable.

So, purely for music quality and looks, I've actually started loving this device. As a gaming device, no not at all. Just some Gameboy kind of games are okay with it and fit to the screen aspect ratio.
