I never had a dedicated gaming console in childhood so this was a long time dream of mine. The miyoo mini plus delivers on what's expected and I haven't yet had any issues. Here are couple of things to know before buying:

1. Do not use the sd card and reader that comes with the device as they are really unreliable and slow. You may lose all your data. I bought a sandisk sd card and anker reader and it has been perfect.

2. The device itself is great, the buttons feel good, the screen is really great to look at. The speakers are not the best quality and the device doesn't have bluetooth, a cheap wired earphones is enough though.

3. Battery lasts for around 5 hrs for me. Always use only 5V 2A adapters and not fast chargers as it may affect the battery. The device charges in around an hour for me.

4. It is pretty lightweight and feels it will break in one fall, so use any hard disk carrying case to take it around, as it is the same size as an external hard disk any case will work.

5. The screen protector which comes included doesn't cover the whole screen, so I didn't bother putting it on. So far I haven't needed screen protection as I'm careful not to drop.

6. Absolutely install Onion OS. It makes all the difference (honestly it makes the miyoo worth buying). It is simple to download and install as well. Just go to their site and download the onion OS installer on your computer. Put the new sd card that you bought and the installer will do the work. Just replace the old sd card and you're good to go. Retro Game Corps on YouTube has a good guide for it.

Also download a good curated set of games such as the Tiny Best Set Go! as the games that come with the miyoo sd card aren't the best versions and has a lot of boring games while missing some best games for various systems.

Just to motivate you to get Onion OS, I'll list the features that made me fall in love with it:

1. The great themes
2. They tune and setup each console so that it looks as close to playing in an old CRT TV. The performance is also better.
3. Original box art next to each game
4. Auto save when power off or switching between games (like modern consoles).
5. HTTP server option through which you can browse all contents of the device from your phone so that you don't have to remove the sd card everytime to copy new files.
6. More console options like Nintendo DS and ports of old PC games like Doom 1,2,3
7. Shortcuts for screenshot, night mode for playing in the dark

Overall, just go for it. Once you get beyond the initial setup i mentioned, it is a completely smooth and no hassle experience.

This is a great starter console for people wanting to get into handhelds. Just powerful enough to run most retro games and tiny enough to fit in your pocket and take it everywhere. Also excellent customer support and delivery from Electroniks India.

This feels so refreshing to be able to just play old school games anywhere in the house. I don't have to be on my actual system all the time. Also it's a good way to get rid of DOOM SCROLLING. I would recommend it if you grew up playing retro games.
I did install Onion OS after getting this because everyone on Reddit suggested it and I've been having a banger since then.
The 64GB card is fully packed with Games so when you install Onion OS I would suggest you should copy the whole Roms folder somewhere and just add whatever you wanna play one by one.
But solid choice for the price here in India too!

Miyoo mini is indeed one of the best handhelds if you are into retro games. Nice build quality and pocketable. RG-35xxH is another option if you like a horizontal layout intstead or vertical.
